Tracy's Tracks- Kenya - JAMBO!
I am traveling to Kenya with the Starfish Mission in July. I am blogging this experience to both capture the experience but to also ask for your help with this very worthwhile cause. Please go to StarfishKenya.com, call or email me to learn more. One-hundred percent (100%) of the funds donated to Starfish Kenya go directly to the needs of the children. Arrived in KENYA!!
Where do I begin to tell this story???? I know its a song but its so appropriate!
The trip was long- so lets start there-
I thought I had posted from the Dubai airport during our layover, but I guess it didn't go thru- so here is the recap
Emerites Airlines were so patient with us when we checking in. We had over 90 bags- and when I say bags they were large ones-- I have taken so many pictures but I am having a hard time figuring how to down load them to this notebook. I will, I promise soon..
So we check in- I was sooo worried about being a middle seater - I had been praying and asking everyone I knew to pray- I want to say THANK YOU- Not only was I not a middle seater we had so many emty seats it was incredible- then to top it off, We had this incredible steward- Richard. Once I told him what we were doing- he came back with this backpack full of stuffed animals then later in the flight he came back with a whole bag of candy for them! People are good-
Well, I can't say the flight from Dubai to Kenya was as comfortable- It was completly packed, but I am happy to report I had a window seat!!!
Food on the plane...well...it was food on the plane...Great company, good movies, great memories!!
Once we landed it took a LONG time to get organzied with the bags, everyone on the bus and moving towards our sleeping arrangements. It only took about 30 minutes when we got moving...again..pictures later-
I am sorry to say I am soo tired- I am going to the room to shower and get under my mosquitto net. If I can I will download in a few-
IF you have any questions send them over-

Tomorrow is the DAY!
I can't believe it that departure day is TOMORROW! I am packed- yes, it all fit (minus some of the original items I had planned to take).
I am excited on two different fronts- a good excitement- like wow- I am going to a new place with new people to help people that really need it and then the other type of excitement, shock- like I am really going-
Wish me luck- Pray for our team - and of course check in to see what is happening....

Packing Day
I know it must sound like that all I care about is packing and the crap I have to fit in the crazy small size carry-on, that in fact you might be thinking that I am obsessed with it- well, I am sorry to report I probably am! TODAY is packing day. I know I have seven days out, but if I don't do it today and find out if it all will fit I probably will not sleep (without the aid of medication) for the next 7 days...
To get the day started I want you to see all what I need to fit into this small, very small backpack
To get the day started I want you to see all what I need to fit into this small, very small backpack
I just want to add that this is not including my two shoes, or any toiletries or medicine-
Those of you that are reading this...do you think I can do it?????
Tune in later to find out, plus to read about my adventure of finding Cargo pants.
